The Day After Christmas

Well, the big day is over.  Yesterday, my son woke up early.  Right now, it's 9:30am and everyone is still in bed.  I wonder what Mary and Joseph were feeling and doing the day after the birth of Jesus?  Did they have to spend more than one night in that stable?  Surely, someone heard the baby and offered them a room to stay in.

I was listening the old Christmas song by 4Him yesterday "Strange Way to Save the World."  It's a great song sung from the perspective of Joseph.  What must have been going through his mind at this point.  He, of all the men in the world, was given the most important task any dad could have.  He was to raise the Son of God.

So, today, while you're watching bowl games, returning gifts at the store, playing with your kids' new toys, think about what the day after Christmas must have felt like to Mary and Joseph.  I think it's valuable to remember that these people were real, just like you and me.  God used them.  He wants to use us, too.

What???  Can you believe I picked the Gators?  I'm not really a Gator fan, but it seems that it's going to happen this year.  Here's my prediction.  There will be a 3rd and short sometime in the game and Coach Suburban Meyer will put Tim Tebow in.  He'll run left and get the first down.  I know, I know, I'm a prophet.  I think the score will be 24-21, Florida.

It's a Wonderful Life - There's Something About Mary

I hope this copy of the sermon works.  I'm having to use a new media player version.

This message is a look at Mary, the young woman chosen by God to give birth and raise Jesus Christ, the Son of God (and God the Son, by the way).  What an honor this must have been.  But what type of woman gets chosen for this task?
